I think Rush is happy with the result .. he definitely wants to play Shuttle again, instead of Light

- either Soulkey winning it all, - or someone, most likely Rush, takes him down and one of the Protosses wins it. I don't see Protoss beating Soulkey in a BO5, so scenario 1 more likely to happen.

But very surprised about Light not only not advancing but not even winning one set.. That's a rough one. GGs!

It's quite an awkward relationship - the ASL prize pool is laughable for a tournament stretching over 2 months and requiring a lot of practice, offline attendance & promos. Especially in this era of streaming. The players are honoring the tournament by keeping the achievement in high regard and putting in the practice (most of them at least). Meanwhile, the tournament is one of the important pillars to keep the scene alive and in that way tied to their popularity & income. That said, it seems it's easy to overestimate players shape. Does it matter how well you do in practice if you can't peak during the tournament when the stakes (at the least achievement wise) are at its highest? Does it matter if you do well in friendlies when you drop out early in a tournament bracket? Light is considered the cream of the crop, but had some really disappointing games today. An off-day? Or in line with his results in the last 3 years in which he had 1 successful championship run but dropped out consistently in Ro24/Ro16 (and maybe a single Ro8? would have to check). Is he truly underperforming? Maybe the likes as Hero deserve a lot more credit.

If snow can bring his online form he will 100% win ASL. Nobody stands a chance against that. Not even soulkey. Dont think anyone except the Zergs can take Soulkey down right now If snow chokes himself out... And I agree with above post. Tournaments seems much more about composure and being ice cold. Playing in the comfort of your home is incomparable to stage play. In LOL coaching we put a lot of effort into prepping players for on stage performance where it all matters. With BW i feel there might be too much focus on grinding practice over mental preparation and mental fortitude.

That would be the worst matchup for Snow.

JD mentioned lacking confidence and making bad decisions as well as cause for his elimination. He had been looking so good lately - not just in results but it really looked like he refreshed his gameplay - but in the end wasn't able to convert this into his tournament play.

Odds for Terran (against Protoss) on these maps: Citadel: 52.9% Radeon: 51.3% Neo Dark Origin: 51.1% Apocalypse: 47.3% Retro: 48.8% Troy: 44.2% BlitzY: 40.9% Some comments; Neo Dark Origin is 40.2% for Terran on TvP on Liquipedia (92 games), while BlitzY is 100% for Terran on Liquipedia (on only 3 games, which I think were largely 2 base pushes or cheeses). Even with the maps in mind, (and given that each player has a map veto), you'd still expect Light to beat Shuttle (especially given that Rush trounced him so easily).

This is the season! I can feel it! I swear Best vs Light in ASL always delivers. Their match in Benzene in ASL 10 was amazing and so was the one on 76.

It's like I said before: on paper light is the best player statistically, but he's not hungry for a title. Rush and Best though? They really want one.

Nobody respects Shuttle when he's always the jester/comedic relief, people act as if he's always the worst player to qualify every season People don't realize he's actually solid in all the matchups, has qualified for every single season he's tried out in except 1, and is absolutely Ro16 material (probably not much higher though) He can be pretty passive in TvP though, not attacking when he should

Can’t believe BlitzY is that imba. I swear every pvt I watch on that map the Terran dominates with a timing push up the skinny middle.
